Evidence-informed guidelines for ethical assessment with Generative AI in Higher Education

These guidelines will provide an evolving, evidence-informed framework to support ethical assessment practices in the age of Generative AI (GenAI). Designed for flexibility, they are meant to be adapted across disciplines, institutional contexts, and pedagogical approaches, rather than offering a fixed or universal solution.

Recognising the fast pace of AI developments, the guidelines also recommend that higher education institutions invest in expert groups or cross-institutional consortia. These groups can help shape responsive, future-ready assessment strategies through ongoing reflection, collaboration, and innovation.
